Is Alia Bhatt going to play Sridevi's role in David Dhawan's remake of Chaalbaaz?

While speculations have been flying around that David Dhawan wants to write and direct a remake of the 1989 smash hit Chaalbaaz, finding a lead actress who can match up to Sridevi’s iconic performance might be a challenge. However, it has emerged that Alia Bhatt might be David’s choice for Chaalbaaz as reportedby Deccan Chronicle.
According to sources in the report, the director, riding high on the success of Judwaa 2, has not only decided to remake this film, but he has also got his modern-day Sridevi in place. All finger point towards Alia who had herself said recently, “When I asked David sir to cast me in his next flick, Judwaa 3, he told me ‘I have a better role for you in mind’. When I asked him again after a little while, he smiled and said, ‘You do not have to work in Judwaa 3 with me, but you will be working in the remake of Chaalbaaz with me’.”

Infact, not too long back Sridevi herself had expressed the desire for Alia to reprise her role in a Chaalbaaz remake as reported by DNA. “I think Chalbaaz will make for a great remake now. Alia would fit the role perfectly. She is spontaneous and an extremely natural actor. She can look vulnerable, innocent and at the same time, she can be smart and mischievous too,” said Sridevi.

While Alia’s casting in the future Chaalbaaz is still churning in the rumour mills, she had also admitted her love for another Sridevi blockbuster Mr. India and expressed her desire to play that role too.

Cyclone Ockhi: Indian Coast Guard aircraft locates 15 fishing boats off Lakshadweep, rushes relief        During the ongoing search and rescue operation to locate fishermen stranded due to Cyclone Ockhi, the Indian Coast Guard on Tuesday provided relief to the crew of 15 fishing boats after sighting them in the sea off Lakshadweep. I n a press release, the Coast Guard said that a Dornier aircraft on search mission found the cluster of fishing boats about 40 kilometres apart from each other, and 125 kilometres from Bitra island. The Coast Guard ship Samrat was immediately diverted to provide assistance to the fishing boats. Fourteen of the boats belonged to Tamil Nadu, while one boat belonged to Kerala. Black money battle: Income tax notices slapped on 1.16 lakh individuals for deposit over Rs 25 lakh New Delhi:   The Income Tax Department has slapped notices on 1.16 lakh individuals and firms who made cash deposits of more than Rs 25 lakh in bank accounts post note ban but failed to file returns by the due date, CBDT Chairman Sushil Chandra said. Besides, large cash deposit by people who have filed I-T returns are also under close scrutiny, he said. The tax department has combed as many as 18 lakh people who had deposited junked 500 and 1000 rupee currency notes of over Rs 2.5 lakh each post demonetisation. "There are 1.16 lakh people who have deposited more than Rs 25 lakh in cash after demonetisation in old currency notes but still not filed their returns," he told  PTI  here.
